The origins of the Penrice Estate can be traced back to the twelth century when a Norman knight took the name of de Penrice and was gifted the land that became the Estate.
Penrice Castle lies in the heart of Gower in South Wales. One mile from the coast, it has panoramic views over Oxwich Bay. Visitors are welcome to walk around the park and gardens at Penrice, and have free access to the nearby Oxwich Bay car park owned by the Estate. Gower itself is a small but extremely beautiful peninsula. It was the first area in Britain to be designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.
